Engineering Students Celebrate Annual Industry Week
Engineering students at Cronton Sixth Form have enjoyed an action packed week of activities, events and guest speakers to celebrate the College’s annual Engineering Industry Week and raise awareness of the sector.
Engineering Industry Week is designed to provide students with a taste of what life can be like working within the different engineering sectors, and to highlight the opportunities that are available to young people in Engineering.
Throughout the week, the College welcomed numerous guests from a variety of areas and companies within the engineering sector to run workshops and talks with the students. Some of these guests included Kier, Bilfinger, Unilever, Arup, Balfour Beatty, Halton Chamber of Commerce and more, with the leading focus being the endless career opportunities now available for young engineers.
The busy week was rounded off with a built environment exhibition in the College’s IDEA Centre, which allowed the students to display their work to companies and receive expert advice on any improvements that can be made.
Head of Engineering at Cronton Sixth Form, Jo Hall said, “Our Engineering Industry Week was a huge success, it is fantastic to see our students so engaged in the workshops and interacting with the guest speakers.
“Weeks like these are incredibly important for students as it gives them a better understanding of life in the work place and shows them the endless opportunities out there for future engineers.”
