Talented New Scholars Welcomed at Cronton
Ten new students at Cronton Sixth Form have had a fabulous start to college life after receiving a prestigious College Scholarship.
The exceptional students were selected for the scholarship award after a series of interviews which took place earlier this year at the College. They were then awarded the scholarships because of their proven talent and flair in the College’s three Centres of Excellence subject areas, Science and Maths, Performing Arts and Sports.
This year the successful students are:

- Amy Littler, previously from Tower College

- Reuben Austin, previously from Saints Peter and Paul Catholic College
- Nadine McGhee, previously from Sir Thomas Boteler

Mary Murphy, College Principal, said, “We are delighted to welcome all of our students to Cronton Sixth Form this year. Already they have settled in well to their studies and are participating in many enrichment activities including the Duke of Edinburgh scheme, the Science and Medical Club, College productions and the Debating Society.
“These scholarships are designed to support students and provide financial assistance towards the costs of fulfilling their potential in their chosen field. For example, students may use the money for attending competitions, buying equipment, paying for specialist coaching or tuition and/or studying towards extension awards.”

Students fulfilling certain criteria can apply for the scholarships as part of the College application process. After scholarship interviews the winning students are awarded financial rewards over their two years of study. We look forward to meeting next year’s potential scholars over the next few months.
