A Level Film Studies Students Visit Aesthetica Short Film Festival
A Level Film Studies students at Cronton Sixth Form College recently had three wonderful days at the Aesthetica Short Film Festival in York.
The students attended screenings of short films, a ghost walk and a trip to the York Dungeon alongside masterclasses with companies such as Framestore, Industrial Light and Magic and Ridley Scott Associates.
The trip was designed to enhance students film knowledge alongside inspiring them with ideas for their own short films, which they are required to make as part of the A Level Film Studies course.
This trip also highlighted the different roles involved in the filmmaking industry and how students can access these roles. Students were given the opportunity to learn first-hand from the best professionals in the industry.
Kerrie Yates, A Level Film Studies Tutor, said, “The trip was a fantastic opportunity to enrich student knowledge of the industry and careers as well as inspiring them with ideas for their short films, which they are currently producing as part of their coursework.”
