Animal Management Students Visit Myerscough School of Veterinary Nursing
Students from Cronton Sixth Form College’s Animal Management courses had the chance to visit Myerscough School of Veterinary Nursing to take part in the Vet Nursing Symposium.
The Vet Nursing Symposium is designed to inform prospective students about the range of knowledge and skill that is needed to successfully complete the Foundation Degree in Veterinary Nursing at Myerscough and experience first-hand what it is like to be a veterinary nurse.
During the visit the students had the opportunity to attend several practical workshops and get interactive with the facilities available, which included; theatre practice, bandaging, radiography, anaesthesia, medical nursing and laboratory techniques.
Keelie Macdonald, Animal Management Tutor at Cronton Sixth Form, commented “Events like this are important as they help to prepare students for the future, providing them with idea of what it’s really like to be a veterinary nurse. It helps them to make informed decisions on their future progression options.”
