Cronton students join the prestigious Cambridge University Shadowing Scheme
Seven students who are currently studying A levels at Cronton Sixth Form are celebrating after being accepted onto the prestigious Cambridge University Shadowing Scheme.
The scheme is highly competitive and is designed to give students the exclusive opportunity to experience life at one of the top universities in the country.
Ellie Worthington and Emma Pountain previously from Saints Peter and Paul Catholic College, Rebecca Stokes from The Bankfield School, Luke McGarry and Ryan Bellfield from The Grange School and Thattiya Bowers and Holly van den Bos previously from Halewood Academy will each travel to Cambridge in February to spend three days shadowing a current Cambridge undergraduate who is studying a subject they are interested in.
The amazing experience will include attending lectures and seminars, taking part in various activities and staying overnight at the university campus to ensure they have an authentic view of life at Cambridge.
Phil Taylor, Head of Centre at Cronton Sixth Form College said, “This will be a fantastic opportunity for the Cronton students to see what life is really like at one of the top universities in the country. We are very pleased that there are so many of our students who have been given this opportunity.
“We hope that the experience will inspire them and give them the opportunity to see what can be achieved. Hopefully they will be encouraged to think about applying to Cambridge or one of the other highly prestigious universities in the UK”.
