Iceland Foods Inspire Business Students
Level 3 Business Studies students at Cronton Sixth Form were delighted to attend a fantastic talk with brilliant guest speaker Hilary Berg, Head of Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility at Iceland Retailers, about the global environmental issues facing students.
For Business students at the College, the talk was a brilliant opportunity to listen to the work being carried out by Iceland and what they believe can be done by everyone to tackle environmental issues. Business students are currently studying a Business Ethics module as part of their Extended Diploma and regularly focus on Retailers when carrying out their research, so it was incredibly valuable to have a representative of this sector discuss these topics.
Linda Curley, Vocational Business Studies Tutor at Cronton Sixth Form said, “It was great to welcome Hilary from Iceland to talk with our Business Studies students about global environmental issues, especially with the current ongoing Business Ethics module.
“It was amazing to see all of our students really engaged and taking down as many notes as possible to take back into the classroom.”
Lewis Albistan, a second year student said, “I found the talk very beneficial, it has raised my awareness on environmental issues surrounding the production of food and made me consider a career in the area of business ethics as the speaker’s job sounds very interesting.”
