Students Dazzle at the Cronton Playhouse with Legally Blonde The Musical
The Centre of Excellence for Performing Arts at Cronton Sixth Form College wowed audiences over two days at the Cronton Playhouse theatre with their latest exciting production; Legally Blonde The Musical.
Based on the novel and 2001 hit comedy movie starring Reece Witherspoon, Legally Blonde tells the story of Elle Woods, a sorority girl who enrols at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend.
Starring Megan Davies as Elle, Ethan Turton as Emmet, Owen McGlashan as Warner, Emily Sharples as Vivienne and Alix Hushin as Paulette, the talented students stepped into the roles for the first major production of the academic year, performing two matinees and evening shows for local schools and packed audiences.
Feedback for the performances has been fantastic. One audience member, Gareth Johnson, commented on social media, “Many thanks to all who were involved with last night’s performance of Legally Blonde, I loved it! I Genuinely felt sad when it came to an end!”
Matt Plant, Programme Manager of the Centre of Excellence for Performing Arts and production director said, “Of all the shows we do in the Centre of Excellence, 25 and counting, Legally Blonde is always the one that students ask for. This production really instilled the fun of the Centre of Excellence and the extra-curricular endeavour that our students and staff enjoy so much.
“Congratulations to our students on an outstanding, unforgettable performance and thank you as always to everyone who joined us in the audience, we really appreciate your support and hope to see you again at the Cronton Playhouse.”
The Centre of Excellence’s next production ‘The Hired Man’ takes place at the Cronton Playhouse theatre on Thursday 2nd April at 7.30pm. Tickets are £7.50 and can be purchased by calling the College Box Office on 0151 257 2032.
