On Wednesday 4th June Tony Peart, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Cumbria came to Cronton Sixth Form College to provide a master class to the creative arts students. He offered a wealth of advice about how to be successful in higher education and secure successful careers in the art and design industry.
During the workshops he advised the students on how to create an impressive portfolio with plenty of advice about how to get noticed in the creative arts industries.
Tony, who teaches graphic design and illustration at the university encouraged the students to ‘act now’ and ‘raise their game’ to make sure the students from Cronton are able to stand out from the crowd in this highly competitive industry.
Maxine Mealey, Head of the Cronton School of Art in Cronton Sixth Form said, “Tony had a massive impact on the students. He motivated and encouraged them to focus on what is important to prepare themselves for long term success in the within the art and design industry. I know all of the students felt that his visit was really valuable.”
This master class follows on from a hugely successful year which has included both exhibiting at the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham and hosting their own annual exhibition, Inspired 2014 which saw record number of people visit St Paul’s Church in Widnes to see the talented students work.
