Vocational Students Honoured at Awards Evening

Cronton Sixth Form and Riverside College honoured the outstanding achievements of their vocational course students at the annual Vocational Student of the Year Awards ceremony.
Remarkable students from each vocational course area, including Hair & Beauty, Construction, Business and Performing Arts, took to the stage to collect awards in front of an audience of friends, family and tutors.

Award winners were recognised for the hard work and dedication they have demonstrated during their time at College, with many now progressing to Higher Education courses and/or beginning exciting careers.

Over 30 awards were presented on the night by special guests Madam Mayor Counsellor Margret Horabin, Chair of Governors Wesley Rourke, Counsellor Tony McDermott and Mark Shotton who represented the Alan Carr Shotton Memorial Trust.

Special recognition went to Chloe Woolliscroft who took home the Overall Adult Student of the Year award, Bradleigh Buckley who was awarded Overall Vocational Student of the Year at Cronton, and Thomas Knez who was named Overall Vocational Student of the Year at Riverside.

Guests were also entertained by the talented Centre of Excellence for Performing Arts students who provided a sneak preview of their next production, A Chorus Line, which takes place on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th June at the Cronton Playhouse theatre.

College Principal Mary Murphy said, “The Vocational Awards evening is a key date in the College calendar and this year was a truly wonderful event. Our vocational students have demonstrated incredible hard work and dedication during their time with us and this was a fantastic opportunity to recognise this. I wish them the best of luck as they now embark on the next chapter of their careers.”
